London-based duo Oh Wonder release their new single ‘Without You’ on Caroline International, impacting on 23rd November.
In September 2014, prolific songwriters Anthony and Josephine challenged themselves to release one track a month, for a year, on SoundCloud. The tracks formed their eponymous debut album, released in September 2015 and charting at #26 in the UK album chart. ‘Without You’ was the last song written for the album, one of only three previously unreleased tracks that was added to the year’s collected works. Written and recorded in just three days, this Frank Ocean-inspired tune examines the listless waiting around for a lover to come home.
Each track Oh Wonder released across the year topped the Hype Machine chart and, altogether, they’ve garnered an incredible 86 million streams across Spotify, Soundcloud and Youtube. The band has featured in Spotify’s Viral 50 Top Ten in the UK, US and Global Charts, and garnered fans at BBC Radio 1. Alongside playlisted tracks, previous single ‘Drive’ was their Track of the Day, the duo were invited into Maida Vale to record an incredible session for Huw Stephens.
After making a critically-acclaimed live debut at the ICA in September and selling out shows in Europe, Australia and the US, Oh Wonder are set to embark on their first (sold-out) headline tour of the UK, including two dates at London’s Village Underground. They have also announced their biggest headline show to-date at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on 17th March 2016.
