After just two releases to date – the AA single ‘Parasite’ / ‘Do You Know Me?’ and the follow-up ‘The Answer’ – London-based newcomers VANT have already made a huge statement with extensive support from Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, XFM and 6Music; shows with Royal Blood and Hinds; plus a succession of positive press coverage.
VANT will continue to build on this support with the new single ‘PARKING LOT’ that’s set to impact on November 13th. Like ‘The Answer’ before it, ‘PARKING LOT’ has also been named as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World at Radio 1.
‘PARKING LOT’ is a concoction of stop-start riffs and fiery grunge dynamics that’s topped by Mattie Vant’s coolly composed vocal delivery. When set alongside the rest of their emerging discography, ‘PARKING LOT’ proves that VANT possess the attitude and the aptitude to match the comparisons that they’ve been earning.
‘PARKING LOT’ is now available for download and will be released on 7” vinyl on NOVEMBER 13TH.
VANT is the brainchild of frontman Mattie Vant. Born out of discontent and frustration at the fucked up world we currently inhabit, he built an arsenal of songs that are short, poignant and socially aware remedies to the ignorance of most modern consumerist pop music. Hailing from the ex-coal mining town of Seaham in the north-east, Mattie is influenced by a vast spectrum of musical genres which are then all condensed into two-and-a-half-minute onslaughts.
VANT’s first summer of festival touring included Reading, Leeds, The Great Escape, Dot To Dot, Calling Festival, Secret Garden Party, Boardmasters and Bingley Live. VANT will next embark upon the following dates for the DIY Presents Tour with revolving co-headliners Inheaven and The Big Moon, plus many more shows across the UK this year.
