The Fjords – All In
The Fjords – All In (2015)
Directed by: Line Klungseth Johansen & Øystein Moe
Undeniably sinister, though surprising sincere, The Fjords’ debut single ‘All In’ recounts love/lust at first sight – a common trope, though not traditionally reinforced with gospel choir backing and Blockbuster battalion. “It’s about the electric, tingling feeling of really wanting somebody,” explains primary songwriter Petter Vågan.
The track itself surfaced online last week, ushered in by The 405 and promptly hailed “effortlessly seductive and bold”. Since then, it’s picked up support from the likes of Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1) and Maz Tappuni (XFM); also causing a stir ‘Down Under’ with Australia’s Channel [V] adding it to Best New Music and landing in SYN’s Sweet 16 Playlist.
Fresh from premiering on Noisey/VICE United Kingdom, the ‘All In’ video is now translated the globe over; pulling posts in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Australia and New Zealand. It ain’t one for the faint hearted, and should be viewed accordingly… probably not before bed, either. A statement from the band and production house Helmet Film & Visual Effects can be found below, along with video credits.
