Siv Jakobsen – Caroline
Siv Jakobsen – Caroline (2015)

Following the release of her EP, ‘The Lingering’ in May, Siv Jakobsen has unveiled the accompanying video for ‘Caroline’.
Siv explains: “The following song is a fictional story about a transgender male. We have chosen to visualize it through the eyes of our trans-feminine friend Miss MJ Rodriguez, to contrast the story of Caroline with MJ’s own journey.
“The pronouns in the lyrics are not geared towards or in any way intended to mis-gender Miss MJ.
“We hope the song and video will encourage awareness, respect and acceptance for this wonderful and vibrant community of beautiful human beings.”
The stunning visual was filmed in New York and made by Jørgen Nordby.
Hailing from Asker, Norway, Siv’s music is beautifully mellow, much like diary-entries – filled with unfiltered thoughts and reflections. With strong references to the likes of Laura Marling and Ane Brun, listening to her music is like being a fly on the wall while she sings you her secrets. Her most recent batch of songs were created in her old 6×7 “bed with a door” room in Brooklyn, NY.
Siv showcased her talents at her London show this week, as well as two wonderful packed-out shows at this year’s The Great Escape. A captivating live performer and inviting storyteller, the Berklee graduate has previously opened for Norwegian indie-sensations Highasakite and Fay Wildhagen, as well as playing sessions for the likes of Daytrotter & Sofar Sounds.
