Nothing But Thieves – Trip Switch
Nothing But Thieves – Trip Switch (2015)
Directed by: Ivana Bobic
Nothing But Thieves’ new single ‘Trip Switch’ is already a firm live favourite amongst the band’s dedicated followers, was premiered on BBC Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record, has been added to the daytime playlist at XFM and now it has an accompanying music video which can be viewed here. The suitably macabre clip, directed by Ivana Bobic, bristles with a series of bizarre and unsettling incidents for the protagonist, especially after dark, once the lights go out.
Currently making waves on the European festival circuit, Nothing But Thieves will play a headline show at The Dome in Tufnell Park on 8th July. The gig was almost immediately upgraded from its original venue due to phenomenal demand and subsequently sold out within a week. Further live appearances over the summer will include a highly anticipated slot at Reading and Leeds Festivals in August and the band were also hand picked by Muse to support them in Rome.
Hailing from Southend, Nothing But Thieves’ music is at once thunderous yet delicate, raw yet methodical, evoking the profound dynamics of music’s more creative imaginations. Epic guitars and rippling synths highlight a thrilling, forward-thinking band with influences ranging from Led Zeppelin to Radiohead to Jeff Buckley and with lyrics patched together from flashes of inspiration and stimulated by the works of Bukowski and Crowley fused to mighty sonics.
Look out for their debut album on RCA Records later this year.
