Disclosure have announced their greatly-anticipated sophomore album Caracal is set for a September 25 release, and the first single ‘Holding On,’ featuring Grammy-winning Jazz vocalist Gregory Porter, is a first look into the forthcoming collection. SPIN has already named ‘Holding On’ one of “The 40 Best Dance Songs of 2015,” and declared the song’s “ceiling-flaking bass, shuffling snares, and a soulful vocalist… that richly colours between the UK garage revivalist duo’s signature visual facial lines.”
Now, brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, have unveiled the epic and futuristic accompanying video. The dark cinematic clip was shot in Mexico City and is the first in a series to be unveiled in the coming months.
Disclosure: “We wanted to create something very different with our music videos this time around. Something unique that would connect all the songs from the album and the videos in a special way,” said Disclosure. “This is the first of a series of four amazing videos directed by Ryan Hope that come together to create a short film… ‘CARACAL.’ So, as each music video comes out… The plot unfolds. We hope you enjoy!”
The GRAMMY nominated duo have established themselves as keen musical curators, as their collaborations demonstrate, and revealed a partial list of forthcoming guest vocalists to include Lion Babe, Nao and Kwabs, as well as Gregory Porter, all of whom joined Disclosure on stage at Parklife and WILD LIFE Festivals this month. Additionally, Sam Smith has been announced as a returning collaborator.
The pre-order for Caracal is available via iTunes as well as Amazon, with “Holding On” available as an instant grat track with purchase on iTunes.
Disclosure have also announced two fall U.S. headlining shows at Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena on September 29 and Madison Square Garden in New York City on October 24, expect more live news to be announced soon.
