Beaming with the sun-streaked alt-pop leanings of HAIM, The 1975, and Sara Bareilles, singer-songwriter Devon is a rising star on the NYC music scene. Writing and self-producing in her east village apartment, Devon aims to spread a message of self-love through inspired self-discovery with her music.
“Just Begun” is the lead single off Devon’s brand new empowered EP, Sitting Up Straight. The EP is currently up over 200k streams on Spotify, and “Just Begun” has received some awesome editorial playlisting from Apple Music (New In Pop) and Tidal (Rising: Pop), as well as some exciting Spotify adds on influential user-generated playlists such as Female Pop Hits (#6), 2020 HITS (#40), Sparkling Indie Pop (#6), Pop Culture (#14), and Unsigned Spotlight (#11). “The title of this EP comes from a line in the first song that says “Being with you is like sitting up straight, I just can’t do it sometimes.” This project has been an awesome experience for me in learning to be a more experimental lyricist / producer, to be less precious with song structure, to be more trusting of what feels good (and what doesn’t), to take up space and to sit up straight.” ~ Devon
