Co-written and co-produced with Flux Pavilion, and an attack on consumerism, Gold Teeth was a late comer to the album. Having taken delivery of the beat and hook from dan Pip “wrote and wrote inspired by the HUGE beat that dan had sent. We then got Josh (Flux Pavilion) onboard to co-produce with dan and, between the two of them, they just took it to the next level.”
Stunner – standing at over 170k views on youtube – set the agenda for a rib rattling return for the duo three years on from their second Top 40 album Logic Of Chance and their forthcoming tour in October is a sell out.
Beat heavy, sparse yet effective, Repent Replenish Repeat is their third long player on Sunday Best label and their most complete work yet. Ploughing a sharply defined furrow of glitched, sharp hip hop, Pip producing his most lucid vocals while dan reaches for a tight production pallet of hard beats, dark strings and layered melodic reverb.
Their critically acclaimed debut album Angles was released in May ’08, just 12 months after the first fruits of their partnership had hit the airwaves and landed a top 40 chart position.
