Back in September, Glasgow synth-pop trio Chvrches released their excellent hook-loaded album The Bones of What You Believe, which saw them deliver on the promise of their debut EP Recover, released just six months prior. Now they’re following up that release with the Sing J. Lee directed video for the ultra-catchy ‘Lies’. The video depicts a kind of sterile dystopian setting where the most simple and intimate of human connections are reduced to being experienced through virtual reality and cold technology rather than between two people, that in a way, could be seen as a reference to our own tech-obsessed culture.
